Tissue Fillers
There are two types of wrinkles: static wrinkles and dynamic wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles are caused by the movement of a muscle, for example frown lines from frowning. Static wrinkles are not caused by muscle action, and may include the lines between your nose and the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds) and the lines between the corners of your mouth and chin (marionette lines). Botulinum Toxin is effective in treating dynamic wrinkles, while fillers are effective in treating static wrinkles. No matter what type of filler is used, or for what purpose it is used, the procedure is basically the same. The patient indicates which areas require fillers. Once the filler is chosen, an allergy test may be performed (this applies only to some of the collagens), and small amounts are injected into the site with a very thin needle. The results are precise and effective, and they may help you unlock your beauty. About Restylane® and Perlane®
The hyaluronans are made synthetically of hyaluronic acid. These included Medicis Restylane® and Perlane®. These fillers tend to last longer than the line collagens, and since the fillers are natural sugars rather than proteins, there is no need for a allergy test. These products vary in density from lowest to medium to highest density. Denser fillers are better for filling deeper wrinkle, and the fine line solutions suit less noticeable lines. Results last from 3 to 12 months. The tear troughs are hollows that some people have below their lower eyelids which accentuate the appearance of dark circles under the eyes. In some people, the injection of a small amount of soft tissue filler can lessen the blue or purple hollowness in this area. Dr. Searles can assess whether this procedure would be helpful for you. Remember: don't take Aspirin, Advil, Motrin or other blood thinners for at least a week prior to these injections, as this is thin delicate skin, where a small bruise is more visible.
